Fairhaven Bunnies seeks to jump into a house forever

A pet has the ability to bring some joy to a home that simply cannot be duplicated, and when a family welcomes a pet, that pet will spend the rest of its life saying “thank you.” “by unconditional love.

Wet Nose Wednesday from Fun 107 is all about connecting families with pets who might be in need of love. With the help of several shelters on the south coast, Fun 107 aims to adopt as many animals as possible by honoring one lucky animal each week.

This week, the spotlight is on a pack of rabbits.

Yes, a group of rabbits is called a fluff, and the term is just as cute as that fluff from rabbits residing at the Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven. The shelter welcomed a rabbit in June, who ended up having eight babies the same night. The shelter currently has seven baby rabbits, a Flemish giant and two lion head mixes, all ready to go to a good home.

Terry Cripps, director of the shelter, recommends that a vet check sex after adoption so they don’t breed. Before you know it, you might end up with eight bunnies.

“They can be spayed and neutered to prevent any new rabbits,” Cripps said.

These soft, fluffy animals love fruits and vegetables. Their ideal forever home would have older children who will know how to manage them with care, and the owners will clearly know how to keep a rabbit happy and healthy.
