Kapamilya Chat with Dalia Verde

Dalia Varde celebrated her 18th birthday with a breathtaking and daring photoshoot that portrays strength, independence and determination to dream big. The gorgeous debutante talks about this milestone and more in this episode of Kapamilya Chat.

Straight out of a getaway to Siargao, which she had to leave earlier than the rest of her friends, Dalia was photographed in fierce and powerful poses for her birthday editorial on Metro Style. The visual narrative is simple yet striking, inspired by her favorite model Taylor Hill.

Ahead of the shoot which took place four days before her actual birthday, Dalia sent her ankles (thanks, Pinterest!) To Xander Angeles known for her glossy fashion editorials. Even with the jet lag, Dalia rocked her killer look in the five-layout pictures. The best thing is that she had fun doing the photoshoot and “didn’t feel at all tired”.

On her birthday, October 28, the Kapamilya star celebrated at an intimate dinner at home with friends and family. Even though that’s not how she initially envisioned the opportunity and may be far from her Kuwaiti-based parents, Dalia is still grateful.

The birthday girl is grateful, first of all, to God, “For all the advice, all the light he shone in my way. I have been very loyal and patient since being here at Pinas so I am really happy to have him around.

The Star Magic daughter also mentioned her parents who never fail to send her love and support from Kuwait. She said she was lucky because not all parents would allow their children to pursue acting careers until they finished school. Even Dalia’s father wasn’t convinced at first. “But they gave me a chance. They trusted me na if i really want it then i can do it. I am truly grateful to have grown up with an amazing family.

Dalia flaunted her acting skills on the teen series It is in itr like Kim. She is the Queen Bee of Benison International School and the returning ex-girlfriend who tried to break up the relationship between Deib Lohr (Donny Pangilinan) and Maxpein (Belle Mariano).

If given the chance to choose her next role, she wants to play a superheroine ala Darna. She also wants to work with Kim Chiu and Vice Ganda.

Dalia takes a hit on her dream of playing in a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode by submitting its audition clip via MMK and Star Magic’s “Cast A Star”. Similar to typical auditions, Star magic artists will send one-act monologue videos that showcase their acting skills. Fans have the opportunity to feature their chosen Star Magic artists in an MMK episode via online votes.

For her story example, Dalia moved internet users with a monologue from a girl who grew up independently in another country. Such dramatic scenes are her emotional outlet as well, claiming that it helps her release the sadness of her parents’ longing.

The up-and-coming actress pays tribute to her former acting coaches, especially director Rahyan Carlos, head of Star Magic workshops. “I was lucky po na dati with my workshops, I was trained by very talented coaches who really helped me get there. I studied with Direk Rahyan Carlos and he really helped me, 2019 pa ito. And I have improved since.
